Frédéric and Guillaume Bérard, creators of the mod's hair brand, invented the profession of studio hairdressers and work for the greatest photographers, fashion designers and fashion magazines.
The readers of these magazines wanted to have their hair done by them: they opened the first mod's hair salon in 1974 in Paris.
They created, with the famous " coiffé-décoiffé ", a natural and elegant, chic and glamorous style that can be found throughout the collections. A timeless style, but always in the air of time that women and men mod's hair appreciate in 250 salons in France and abroad.
Starting from the idea of ...
... to create a team of studio hairdressers to work wherever fashion demands. Thus was born the first agency of studio hairdressers who express themselves outside a salon. Until then, models arrived on photo sets with a choice of wigs. The innovation: hairstyling on location. The creators of mod's hair have put their talent and creativity at the service of the greatest fashion photographers of French and foreign women's magazines, and fashion designers (Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, Sarah Moon, Kenzo, Cacharel...).
The success is immediate. Fashion and beauty editors all over the world (Elle, Marie-Claire, Vogue, Votre Beauté, L'Officiel...) asked for Frédéric and Guillaume. They needed a name, it would be mod's hair, and an address in Paris to please the readers of these magazines.

Birth of ready-to-wear hairdressing
Frédéric and Guillaume wanted the new "women" born in 1968 to take advantage of these magazine hairstyles in salons. They developed a simple and easily transferable method, called by the profession "the mod's hair method", the principle of the coiffé-décoiffé.
All the ingredients for a success story were then gathered, the ready-to-wear hairdresser was born. A personalized welcome, with respect for appointments, creates a climate of quality, while technical training is the guarantee of a good result. Cuts highlighted by specific coloring techniques bring relief and magnify the volume.
