Franchisee testimonials
By chance, I met mod's hair, I already had a salon in the Paris area that was doing well but this meeting made me want a challenge, a new project, to settle elsewhere. With my husband, we decided to move to sunny Portugal and why not open a hair salon there. mod's hair was no longer present in this country but they supported and followed my project. In a few months, I opened a mod's hair salon in Porto. I didn't master everything, the Portuguese market, the different steps and negotiations but the mod's hair team helped me and accompanied me. I trusted them, they have been around for over 50 years!
I always say that everyone has their own job: mod's hair gave me the opportunity to realize a new life project in a country I hardly knew! When you open a salon under a world-famous name, customers have more confidence.
I had already been under a luxury brand as a manager, the pressure was constant, the approach too commercial and the relationship was distant and cold with little support.
With mod's hair it's different: no constraints, freedom! Of course, there are rules but they are not orders. I'm independent, I couldn't stand the deprivation of freedom. All the tools that the group gives us help us: the techniques of sweeping, the Surfer, those of the cuts. The clients love the principle of the cuts that can be easily re-cut at home.
In essence, the brand is very artistic and we can adapt it, even personalize it while keeping the mod's hair DNA. Artistically the style evolves all the time, it is not fixed.
The group has a family spirit, we are very connected despite the distance, I am part of a small family now. For me it's something very important: "if we row, we row TOGETHER..." and the group supports us. I will certainly have other projects with mod's hair...
I have worked in other franchises. The "studio hairdresser" approach is very close to me. In fact, I like everything about mod's hair. It stands out from its competitors because of its avant-garde approach. The collections are always evolving, inspired by trends. There is always something new in the air. Since the creation of the brand, the Bérard brothers always wanted to go forward and I was also fascinated by their history, their success and their first salon opened by accident.
It is a brand that has always been intrinsically linked to fashion. This connection is evident in the salon's sleek and fashionable look, the huge posters, the quick and efficient cutting techniques that are easy to style.
Apart from the artistic aspect, I appreciate the true partnership and sharing between the franchisor and the franchisee. We move forward hand in hand. I respect the commitments and choices of the group and on their side, there is a real follow-up, they are always listening, which is not always the case with competitors.
I have several salons in shopping centers and I manage the flow of customers. The customer journey is very important because we welcome our customers well, we take time to listen, exchange and advise. Thanks to our expertise, customers are satisfied and they come back.
I really like everything about mod's hair, the brand is very rewarding and everything is not reduced to the commercial aspect. We look in the same direction because I have the same artistic sense. mod's hair brings us consistency thanks to the regular collections.
I love the philosophy of mod's hair, I love the concept and I love feeling like a family.
At first, I didn't want a franchise, it's restrictive and often a bit expensive. Beyond the correct prices, they seduced me in a different way as our exchanges went on, I understood that Mod's Hair is above all a family franchise. Of course, we follow the model of the "mother company" but we have the right to work as we like! And for me it is very important!
For me, this family spirit is really important, and if there is a problem, they are there, I have already been able to verify this! Moreover, we are always in touch with the network coordinator, it's not an intrusive follow-up, I don't have the impression that someone is watching me. The follow-up is there to help us, to improve what needs to be improved, and to make our business progress.
The concept itself pleases me a lot, the visuals are beautiful and it is important to renew ourselves by training in our profession. We help our customers to change their minds with the new techniques and new inspirations of the collections. This allows us to avoid the "as usual".
The franchise always brings additional value to our work: in terms of projects, communication, they are always listening to us and if there are problems, we manage them together. The group always gives me other points of view or new ideas that I don't necessarily think about. The group is really interested in its franchisees.
You remain your own boss, but it is always more productive to exchange, communicate and discuss with "big brother" in order to walk together in the same direction.
mod's hair offered me to take over a salon but this was not in my plans. The brand has integrated new members, it has been revitalized, the new concept has been created, I saw an opportunity.
I've always found the brand's image attractive, the concept of the studio hairdressers sleek and fashionable. I also like the artistic freedom that the brand offers. The group respects the feelings of each person. Behind each mod's hair salon, there is a personality.
The group has given me a lot in terms of personal development. It teaches me to work differently and to manage my business. Currently, my ambition is to create a mini group of mod's hair salons and to manage them. For now, I have two businesses and with mod's hair, there is more ease and opportunity to have great projects.
Continuous training: this is a very positive thing because the whole team is trained regularly, including the manager, which is also important. But it's not formatting, it's learning and mastering new techniques and new products.
It's funny, I'm starting to get back the mod's hair clientele from the 80's (they remember their youth and they come to refresh their look) but also the young people who love the brand, the Surfer techniques and especially the very studio, fashion look and its huge posters.
Before, I had several independent salons, now I have several mod's hair salons and I'm learning a new job: managing multi-salons.
I really like the look of mod's hair salons: it's friendly and clients feel comfortable in the salon, which can be customized. It's a concept that makes it very easy to communicate with the client and there are a lot of tools for that. The client path, for example, helps to organize the client's visit, to build her trust with her hairdresser who listens to her and offers her the latest trends and innovations.
mod's hair offers a follow-up and a lot of support in the development of a business. You feel surrounded which allows you to avoid unnecessary stress and to have help, if needed.
The group taught me a lot about team management through training, which allowed me to discover the facets of this new job. The network coordinator continues to support me with his advice and recommendations.
You too, join us!
